General Summary
We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Master Planner/Scheduler. This position will report to the Planner/Scheduler Supervisor and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of inventory as developed in coordination with the sales plan, production schedule and inventory plan. This effort will be accomplished by working as part of a team with production supervision, team leaders, and the Materials Department.
Essential Job Functions
- Identify marketplace requirements and coordinate effective scheduling logic to build and produce realistic master schedules and customer satisfaction.
- 'Monitor/maintain accuracy and integrity of MPS input information (forecasts, order reconciliation).
- Monitor Kanban inventories supporting areas and raw materials.
- Purchase inventories to support production schedules.
- Responsible for meeting inventory turn performance goals and adjusting as indicated by results.
- Monitor Kanbans to limit or eliminate over production.
- Prepare scheduled performance reports and charts for planning.
- Responsible for ensuring 100% accuracy of assigned inventory items.
- Complete part by part analysis of all inventory items assigned by product, including finished goods, Kanban WIP and raw material.
- Provide timely and appropriate communication when 'ATS commitments' do not support external customer needs.
- Serve as a communication focal point for information (status, changes, and issues) about the MPS.
- Formulate planning and scheduling guidelines for use across all manufacturing teams.
- Support warehouse, shipping and receiving with inventory reconciliation review, and shipping changes.
Preferred Experience / Education / Skills
- BS degree in Math, Business Economics or comparable degree and/or comparable combination of formal training and experience will be considered.
- Proficient in MS Office programs required.
- Experience using AS/400 based systems preferred but not required.
- Professional business communication skills and advanced internal and external customer service skills.
- Material/production control experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience in a “made to order” environment is a plus.
- Experience in material flow and production scheduling techniques with an aptitude to perform inventory analysis and reconciliation.
- Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize problem situations, analyze alternatives and prioritize/implement necessary corrective actions.
- Basic accounting skills and ability to analyze associated inventory costs with on hand and turns.
