Summary of Duties:
We have an immediate opportunity for experienced New Product and Process Introduction Engineers to design and oversee, the installation and the improvement of production processes for ATS new and existing production systems using the integration of people, equipment, and materials.
Essential Job Functions:
- Design, implement, and improve production processes to achieve quality, through-put and cost targets.
- Introduce new products and processes following Advanced Product Quality Planning activities. Use project management techniques to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Work with cross functional groups to optimize productivity through efficient, ergonomically sound and safe work station and tooling designs.
- New equipment project management including evaluation, design/design review, specification, selection, justification, acquisition, installation, validation and sign-off to manufacturing.
- Participate in simultaneous engineering efforts to ensure manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
- Lead the development of PFMEAs and participate in the development DFMEAs which are developed by internal and external cross-functional groups.
- Utilize tools outlined in TS-16949 standard including process capability studies, control plans, PPAP, and statistical process control to ensure timely and successful product launches.
- Create and reconcile production standards utilizing work measurement techniques such as time/motion studies and work content studies. Analyze production costs to identify and implement improvement efforts.
- Coordinate internal cross functional teams and external tool suppliers to develop production systems and equipment with the lowest cost of ownership and imple.
- Create and reconcile manufacturing documentation as required by the various operating procedures such as manufacturing bills of material, labor routings, manufacturing process documentation, etc.
- Conduct supplier visits both domestically and internationally.
Preferred Experience / Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical degree required.
- Five to seven years of experience in an OEM manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience in heat transfer industry and/or automotive supplier is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning is a must.
- Experienced in manufacturing process design and implementation, including safety, environmental and ergonomic considerations.
- Experience using Pro-E software.
